Because they want their own culture and comradeship apart from the white race that stole their dignity for a couple hundred years. They do not want to merge with white culture and betray the legacy of their ancestors. For others, it is an excuse to act ignorant and then blame all of their problems on white people.

When I was growing up, "ant" rhymed with "can't". I am white, and both of my parents grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. I had several friends who pronounced it the same way, and several others who pronounced it like it rhymed with "font". In fact, I used to think it was written as "ant". I'm guessing this is a linguistic dialect sort of thing with no proper and completely agreed upon pronunciation.

Okay, this is a simple variant of pronunciation that is likely more regional than racial.

On the other hand, who the hell cares? Really? What possible difference could it make how the word is pronounced? You clearly understand the meaning intended. What's your problem?

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry but are you retarded? LOL,,, I didnt know it was a race thing, I thought the way you pronounce a word, has something to do with where you come from, you have white people that pronounce it like that too...Especially if your from the south...
