hi can anyone help me answer this question. I have a bad odor smell down there and i dont have an infection far as i know. when i dont have sex for awhile it goes away and when i do then its back to the same thing. thanks hope someone can explain.

You need to shower after you have sex to help get rid of the semen if you don't use a condom. Do not use body washes or soap in this area as the vagina is a self cleaning orifice. If the vaginal odor is bad I would see your doc and get checked to be sure it is not an infection. You didn't mention when you last pap smear was but if you are do to have that done why not get all of this done at one time?

The odor can be caused by serveral things. One being your washing skills after sexual activity. Be sure to wash your vaginal area throughly after as the cuts down on infections. Do not douche or use anything foreign in your actual vagina as this unbalances the natural bacteria and will lead to infection. The other could very well be if you are using a condom. Condoms and their ingredients leave behind an odd odor that is very permable quite a bit later. Also solved by washing after sex. Be sure to urinate after sex as this will cut down on urinary tract infections as well.
