i think my son has started masterbating... i mean i wiped my face with a towel i found by his bed and the towel was damp, also his sheets have white spots over them... he's only 14, i started masterbating at 16, how can i tell if he is masterbating? he hasnt started locking his door or anything

Why did you wipe your face with a towel by his bed? That's a little weird. Dampness could mean many things. He may have dried off with it after a shower or something.
Also, if his bed has white spots on them, it doesn't mean he's masturbating. Boys tend to have dreams if you know what I mean. I think it's probably something every boy is going to do. Like you said, you started doing it when you were 16. There's not much difference between a 14 and a 16 year old.
Besides, does it matter if he is? Are you going to tell him not to? Quite frankly, it's not something that's easy to stop. I guess a lot of it is curiosity and the fact it feels good.

You shouldn't stress it. It's obviously normal. It shouldn't be an issue, at least he's doing it in the privacy of his own bedroom. If he were doing that in the living room or at the dinner table, then I'd confront him and have a problem with it. Don't go all CSI on him, analyzing the white spots on his sheets. That's disgusting and invasion of privacy. Another thing, why in the world would you want to find out if he is or not? He's a 14 year old kid entering puberty, masturbation is only the beginning of it all, leave it at that and worry about other things, Like his school grades.

WHY would you want to know!? I have a son that's almost 11 and he started this year. Unfortunately for me he left his door unlocked and didn't hear me knock and ...good god I wish I could get that image out of my head! (I SOOO wish I was kidding about that!) Anyway I just would tell him to lock the door if he needs "private" time and for god's sake don't use towels that you just find lying around! And really sounds like you were a late bloomer if you weren't even masturbating until after alot of guys are already getting the real thing.

masterbating is totally normal and PRIVATE, leave ur son alone and im sorry but it doesnt concern u in any way. If u start asking to many questions or be curious about it ur Son will feel uncomfortable and think it is a bad thing so respect his privacy.

Goodness... you are going to drive yourself insane! Who cares! You right? Well let it go! He can't get any diseases and he's relieving some pressure so give him his privacy and don't use any more of his towels or look at his sheets and stuff (he can wash his own stuff at this age). I don't think his "personal matters" should be of your concern. Why would it matter to you anyway? Masturbation is completely normal and actually healthy.
and 14 isn't that young it's like 8-9th grade, i think he's old enough to make the official decision of whether or not to do it.

i have a 12 year old and a 11 year old and they have been doing it for a while now. i found out by talking to them about it and they admitted it to me u have o be open with them
