I came across this question on a website about three weeks ago and I couldn't answer it. It's nagged at me since. Anyone want to take a stab at it for me?

MORALITY refers to the concept of human ethics which pertains to matters of good and evil —also referred to as "right or wrong", used within three contexts: individual conscience; systems of principles and judgments — sometimes called moral values.

Personal morality defines and distinguishes among right and wrong intentions, motivations or actions, as these have been learned, engendered, or otherwise developed within each individual.

An IDEOLOGY is an organized collection of ideas. The main purpose behind an ideology is to offer change in society through a normative thought process (what the world ought to be). Ideologies tend to be abstract thoughts applied to reality.

@Ark, IMHO, gave you the best answer. I will point out that the conservative ideology is NOT the same thing as the Republican Party. There are people who have conservative views in the Democratic Party as well as Independents. The liberal ideology is NOT the same thing as the Democratic Party. There are people who have liberals views in the Republican Party as well as Independents. Most people are moderate, having some liberal and some conservative views.. Political Party is irrelevant.

I might be WAY off here, but morality focuses on dealing with right and wrong. Ideology focuses on dealing with a set of.... ideas.

Ideology is predominantly a set of ideals which people believe to be correct and just.

Morality is so intertwined with money that it has lost a lot of it's significance.
