Whenever you have a problem that tells you to find three consecutive integers whose sum is A, you do this:

x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = A

in your case,

x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = -12

so 3x + 3 = -12

3x = -15

x = -5

x + 1 = -4

x + 2 = -3
