I loved all the dark fairy tales (which, actually most of them were I guess)

Hansel and Gretel
Baba Yaga
The Red Shoes (that is one bloodthirsty story)
Rapunzel
Rumplestiltskin
The Pied Piper

Anything with nasty witches that wanted to hurt people in the worst kind of ways, or people coming to really nasty ends. It's surprising kids get any sleep after hearing all the blood thirsty stories come to think of it!

Ok, here goes... (as far as I know I'm the only child who believed this, and don't laugh too hard!)

I have no idea how or why I ever believed this, but when I was really little 4? 5? I thought the Pillsbury Dough Boy actually lived in one of those tubes of biscuits! (Must have been from those 1970's commercials)

I would beg my mother to buy them, and once at home I'd unwrap a tube as carefully as Charlie (& the Chocolate Factory) did with his chocolate bars. Each and every time I'd feel devistated that I didn't find the right batch of biscuits!

I hated eating the d**mn biscuits, I just wanted that little Dough Boy! Guess I thought I could keep him in a cage like a pet!

Favorite "traditional" tale/myth : would have to be Santa!

It would have to be The Night Before Christmas. My mother would read that book to me, but it was a huge book with huge pictures and all velvet ..Red, White & Green velvet. It was very vibrant & pretty. I'll never forget that. It was the greatest feeling in the world!
