Try hairspray. Drench the fabric in hairspray, rub the fabric together, rinse, repeat as necessary. It has helped me remove some ink stains in the past. The fresher the stain, the more likely you will be to get it out.

Rubbing alcohol would probably be a good substitute if you don't have hairspray.

Good luck!

I am a mother of a 2 year old and I have found that spraying greased lighting on stains and using bleach in the wash gets out almost everthing!! If that doesn't work, before it drys, put lemon juice and salt on the stain then set it so that the sun hits it. This works well for mildew stains also.

I would take it to a cleaners and ask them what they could do or you could do.
If you use bleach take this under consideration...
I have this friend who got an orange Sharpe on her brand new pair of white jeans. She used bleach...right...after awhile or so she found the the bleach had ate her jeans and I mean literally. (there was a hole). Maybe in her case it is totally different, or maybe she did something wrong, I have no idea.

I can suggest two things:

Like i said before take your item of clothing to the cleaners

or

use a bleach pen/bleach (not really sure about)

Permanent markers are called permanent for a reason.

If the clothes are white, try straight chlorine bleach, use a bleach "pen" maybe.

If that doesn't work, or if the clothes are colored you're pretty screwed. Permanent markers are used to label clothes specifically becasue it cannot come off.

Hairspray will take permanent marker out of cloth...spray the area down real good than take paper towels and blot (don't rub it will smear) than keep spray and blotting ..I have done this on my kids shirts before and it worked great.....white might be a little tricky though.....so you may end up with faint marks...if that happens..I would rinse the shirt good than pour straight bleach on the area for a minute or two and see if they fade.....than wash and rinse really well........

I lady years ago told me this trick... I was skeptical...permanent is suppose to be permanent...but I took a chance and it worked.....

If you want to test this...take a scrap piece of cloth and write on it with a Sharpe....let it dry and spray it down....I think you will be pleasantly surprised.....

it works really good on skin to....my kids went through a stage of "wannabe tattoo artists".....takes if off faster than soap.... : )
