I am a mother of 4 adult children and I know from experience that you should pack your bag at 28 weeks (your 7th month). Although I was always late by a week, my daughter went in unexpectedly 3 weeks early and my daughter-in-law went in 5 weeks early. Just be prepared. Pre-register and pack your bag at 7 weeks. You're late....so get to packing!!!!

First child, a week before I was due.
Second child, after my water broke I packed my bag and left for the hospital. He was 10 days early.
Third child, was a planned c-section so I packed the night before.
I spent weeks gathering everything and making sure I had everything I needed. However, for some reason I always procrastinated when it came down to packing the darn thing.
Honestly, if you ended up at the hospital without your bag it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Pack it!!! I didn't have mine packed yet at 36 weeks...and I went to the doctor that day and ended up having to go straight to the hospital and stay until the baby was born. My husband brought me a hairbrush and my contact lens case, but he claimed that was the extent of his abilities, so I had to go without a lot of stuff I really needed.
You should bring a robe, a nursing bra and pads if you're going to breastfeed, hairbrush, hair tie if your hair is long, chapstick, extra panties that you don't care about, maybe some long overnight maxi pads (the ones at the hospital are usually crap), camera and batteries, clothes for baby to go home in and a pretty blanket for pictures in the hospital, and something to read...although if you're doing rooming-in you may not have time to read anything.
Use a bag you can open without lifting it. When I had my second baby, I had one of those garment bags that folds over and has wheels. The hospital room was so small that I couldn't lay it out on the floor to open it, and I couldn't lift it onto the bed (I had a c-section) so I couldn't get anything out without help.

I waited until I was about 37 weeks, but that is just me. Now that I have everything ready, the baby won't come. I am due on Friday the 19th and I feel like I have been pregnant for ever. My daughter was born at 36 weeks and I didn't have anything ready, so if you feel like you want to pack the bag now do it. Better safe than sorry.

I packed mine at 36 weeks. The problem was that in the rush during the middle of the night to get to the hospital, he forgot it! LOL< LOL! It all turned out good anyways & it was brought to me the next morning. Just relax and enjoy these last few weeks when you can be pampered by others. That sweet child will get here with or without your bag. Just focus on the blessings God has given you & everything will be just fine.

I packed my bag and the baby's on 7mnth age of prgnancy because my doctor said that it is very possible for mother to give birth around 7-10 mnth age of prgnancy. Besides, it's nothing to loose if I packed sooner, moreover I don't feel panic and always ready when the baby would like to born, and I can do check and re check. The hurts feeling of the birth sign is so painful, and you can't make any decision (or even thinking) on that situation, so to prevent everything run unwell I packed sooner.

I started at about 30 weeks with the things that I knew I wasn't going to want around the house before then, like some dollar store slippers and the baby's comeing-home outfits(packed two, one size newborn and one size preemie because he was expected to be quite small), and nursing bras and pads.
I also packed my cd player, cd's and batteries, and a deck of cards (to take my mind off of things- I love playing with cards, even just toying with the deck is fun for me).
I waited on things like a come-home outfit for me, because I knew I would need to still wear maternity pants and I'd be wearing those before the birth.
I think I packed the rest at about 40 weeks, and then I took everything out and re-packed it differently at 9 days overdue, when I was nervously/impatiently getting ready to go to the hospital that night to start the induction process.
Good luck!

I am also 32 weeks and I think I am going to back my bags by week 35. I live really really close to the hospital so my husband can always run home quick and get things if needed. Good Luck!

I don't even remember packing a bag! I think my husband went home later and picked up a few things that I needed. It seemed the hospital had all I needed really. Don't worry about it...the main thing is your new baby. Enjoy!
