There are a vast number of small C&W clubs all over the country. My mother and idiot-step-father were mad on it and I went along for the laugh because they really knew how to have fun. They used to go to up 5 different clubs a week within a 10-15 mile radius of where we lived but usually only 1 or 2 on a regular basis. You would invariably see almost exactly the same people at each one.

There was even a week long C&W festival at a holiday camp in a place called Hemsby on the east coast every year. Different bands would play nearly all day and of course there would be line dancing including organised lessons! There were stalls that sold cowboy, cowgirl, indian, etc clothes, replica guns, you name it and you could get it. They would put on battle recreations, one of which I took part in as a cannon loader! It was always on the week after the Elvis festival. When we arrived on the Saturday there would always still be loads of people dressed as "The King" walking around. Ironically both the Elvis' and cowboys would be sniggering at each other for looking like idiots!

Oh yes Country music is alive and well in the UK!
