Sounds more like you have bad lifters. A bad oil pump could cause it, as it does not give enough oil to the engine to cause knocking. Unless, you have an oil pressure gauge you can not tell.
If your rod bearings are bad, and maybe later on you start getting a louder knock STOP the engine. They are getting burnt. You get your cam turned and put new bearings in. Be a lot cheaper than replacing a blown engine. But depends on what kind of engine you have too. Cause a good ole 350 long block would be just as cost effective instead of the time to take out the block, get it turned, and replace new bearings. But you have to check on prices though.

it particularly is not doing it any solid. the entire theory-approximately revving engines at a end got here from early warm rods that would not idle, which skill the driving force had to maintain revving the engine to maintain it working at a end. some cutting-edge rods nonetheless do no longer run properly at idle. Then got here the little gas needed while pulling off from a bring about 1st with a instruction manual transmission. it particularly is not needed with an automatic of path, yet human beings picked up the cue and prefer the sensation and sound of revving. there is not any smart reason to rev at a end.

Rod bearings will make noise at any time the engine is running not when you rev it up. Sounds more like you have a bad cam and or main bearing.
