I am planning on taking the GRE's to get into a graduate program for Psychology, but I know that I am lacking strength in vocabulary. Other than reading (which I'm doing) as a means to increase vocabulary, what other cool - interesting - or non-traditional methods can you all think of that may help with building vocabulary at the professional/graduate level?

New York Times crossword puzzles. Look for compiled books in softcover edited by Will Shortz.

Not to be flip, but have you tried the Sunday NY Times crossword? Reading is the best way I know...good luck!

well there is the usual studying the thesaurus ...ect. but reading truly is the best way.

Listen to NPR (public radio). rent Akila and the bee.
