why do some Americans try to disgrace soccer. why do u care about it, just play ur boring football. Basketball and hockey are the only attractive sports u really have.

we don't care about it. if it wasn't for yahoo answers, soccer would be the furthest thing from our minds. the problem is we scan through the sports questions and we constantly see questions like 'why don't stupid americans call their football something else?' or 'why don't americans like soccer when the rest of the world loves it?' and dozens of other questions like this. it's like the rest of the world just can't deal with the fact that we refuse to 'get in line', and be like everyone else. we constanly read questions about how stupid our sports are. and what? you think we're just going to take that crap? we don't take garbage from anyone, and we're sure not going to take it from a bunch of pretencious europeans who get on an american site like yahoo and try to tell us what we should watch and what we should call our sports.

Not all Americans disgrace soccer. I play soccer and I enjoy it but you must understand that we have tremendous ego and we like being Best at everything! Unfortunately we are horrible at soccer and this is why most Americans do not care for it. Now would you care for a sport that you suck at? I am guessing not!

Hey, soccer is supposed to be this great worldwide phenomenon, right? So that means Americans can watch and discuss it, right? I mean, the whole big deal with soccer is its universal appeal, unless I'm missing something here. This American much prefers good old fashioned Canadian ice hockey to any other sport, but if other people like soccer, good for them! Here's to a global society joined together by soccer and the end of the anti-American worldview brought on by snobs like yourself, my dear!
