eyo im under 18 and i kno wat ure talkin about...the best HIP-HOP artist gots to be NAS b/c his first album ILLMATIC was one of the best pieces of work EVER!! even though it only had like 12 songs...or....Talib Kweli...everything he spits has meaning to it...every line...every verse...it just all comes togther man...

I Think Tupac!! Because he pretty much can and did rap about everything. He could rap Gangsta Party and then turn around and write Brendas Got A baby and be putting out a message. LLCOOL,RUNDMC,TRIBE CALLED QUEST,QUEEN LATIFAH,Digital Underground and WILL SMITH. WHY because they are all true to hip hop . None of them had to go for gimmicks.
