My mom and dads house has had a pipe break in the ceiling and my dad cut a hole in the roof to see the damage. A guy came over and repaired the pipe, but the ceiling. I was wondering whats the best way to repair it should we go to Home Depot or is there a home-made thing to help with the hole?. If so name the place and the average price for it please.

I don't know how big the hole is, but if it's "head" sized, you can purchase a few things to fix it yourself. First, get about a 3 foot diameter piece of metal screening. Next, tie a piece of string to the middle of the screen with the string hanging down. Push the screening through the hole from the bottom to the top of the hole so that it spreads out to cover the hole on top, and with the string hanging down below the hole. Tie a pencil onto the string as something to hold the string taut. Now apply plaster with a thick consistency to the hole, keeping the string taut. When the hole is covered, let dry until it's nice and firm. Now cut the string at the ceiling level, sand, and then repaint. Good luck.

Hi
The sites below show you how to repair the hole. You repair your ceiling the same way you repair a wall.
