im buying an hp laptop and the salesman told me i needed to pay an extra 100 dollars for installation of the pre-installed windows xp media center ed. operating system... is that true?

Absolutely not !!!!
Especially on an HP unit.

All that needs to be done is for you to "finalize" the installation by opting for a user name & such.

I strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere ... PERIOD !

These guys tried to rip you off once & will do so again. This is unheard of .... "installation of the pre-installed windows" ???
TOTAL NONSENSE.

I am so upset by the nerve of these people ... email me & I will personally make every effort to help you find the same unit elsewhere at a better deal .

What??!! This joker is trying to make himself an extra $100. Pre-installed means just that. I know of no notebook computer sold without an operating system installed (unless we are talking off lease, etc. type of deals).

Lies. If you purchase a system, the OS will be installed already. I suggest going to another store.
