Welcome to womanhood baby girl. It is perfectly fine for you to have just a drop the first time around. As the months go by, you should start to have more regular pariods. You should get a little journal to record what is going on with your period. Note the number of pads you use each day, this will give you an estimate of how much you are bleeding. Also record how many days you bleed each time as well as the 1st day of your period each month and the lenght of time between periods. Also note if you have any cramps or clots or any other symptoms which may be brought on by your periods. You should plan to see an OBGYN in the coming months if your periods do not become regular of if you have any other problems. I wish you the very best.

I was 13 when I had my first period. It's like a lot of things that go on with our bodies....each person is different. For example I had my first period which was very light, probably not much different from your experience. Then I didn't have another one for almost a year! I was kind of freaking out thinking that there was something wrong with me but...like I said EVERYONE is different. Even when I was having them regularly I cycled every six weeks instead of every four. My periods have also been very light compared to my friends. If yours continues to be light...consider yourself among the lucky girls and don't worry about it.

That was your first period. Not everyone starts the same way. Some start heavy & some start light. Also, some have their cycle every 26 to 30 days, while others are not regular & have it a couple of days here, a couple of days there, all in the same month. (My cousin was like that)

it's very possible that it was in fact your first period. some times it will flow heavier than others. i know this isn't a subject thats easy to talk about with you're mom but that's why she's there. (look on the bright side, when I started for the first time we were moving from Co. to Ga. my dad was already in Ga. so my mom called him to let him know. still not sure who was more embarrased by it but yeah)
if you don't feel comfortable talking to your mom you could try talking to the school nurse or even your family doc. like i said i know it's not an easy thing to talk about but if you're concerned you should talk to someone face to face

It sounds like this may have been your first period but without seeing the discharge it is hard to know. You should be able to talk to your mom about things like this but if you can't then find an adult you feel comfy talking with to discuss this kind of thing with in the future.

Yes it could have been. It usually lasts from 3-7 days. I remember my first one lasting about a week, but each person is different.

Did you you have any cramps, headaches, changes in acne?

You will only know if it was your first period if you get another one next month.

*But you do need to bring it up with your mom, it is a hard thing to do. She can help you with types of pads, tampons and painkillers to help you.*
