I think cody does go from adorably cute to handsome. CJ is still a great idea! Find a very strong middle name with a j and you'll be golden. I found the easiest way to match a middle name was to go through the baby book and write down all the middle names I liked with that letter and let my man help decide which sounds best with the first name, even if he dosn't completely agree with your favs he'll help you knock a few off the list! good luck! your last name should play a huge roll too, he'll have it forever!

I think that with a short name like Cody a one syllable middle name is good. I like Cody James the best out of the J names (but for some reason CJ always makes me think of that girl on Baywatch LOL). I think that a name like Cody Blake or something like that is good. But I do think that Cody may be a bit boyish but at the same time if it's that important to HIM then he could just go by his middle name, James sounds very adult. But lots of people are named Cody and I'm fairly certain that they'll be adults one day :) and they seem to be doing fine. (also just another thought boys have a tendency to call one another by their last names so "cody" might not even be an issue in some places)

CJ is great....but isn't it unfortunate that you can not come up with a name by yourself. I think you know what you want....you must have something in mind if you are thinking of CJ. Sorry, but I am in my 40's, have 4 grown children and am still helping my own children on naming my grandchildren. I LOVE the name Cody....but it all depends on how you say the name together (all three names) and also how you say the name together (just the first and last names). If you name your child "Cody Joshua Fairchild"....that sounds fantastic....but that is up to you. Say the first name and last name out loud and altogether before you make a decision!!

I've gone over all the "J" names and I think Cody James sounds the best. It's hard to know for certain without knowing the last name. I like CJ, it works.

I like the name Cody and I think James sounds good with that if you want to go with a 'J' name.

Also I have a friend who did something kinda like what you're talking about and now that he's grown he goes by "LJ" to keep his name from sounding like a little boy's name. I works for him.

You could also do something like name him Codero or something of that nature and call him Cody. That way he can make his own choice when he gets older as well.
