Work on leg strength. I run alot and I started working on leg strength.. and it has helped alot. I took 15 seconds off my mile time in like a week. So its pretty good. And also work on breathing. Breathe when you take steps, like breathe in for 3 steps then out for 3. Thats what I do and it really helps

Run on the balls of your feet, dont let your heels touch the ground. Keep your head straight up and your back arched. Keep balanced movement of your arms and just concentrate as hard as you can on running to your goal
