if u get one of the expansion packs of the sims for PC do you need to get the Regular sims?

Yes you have to have the original Sims CD to play the game. That must first be installed on your computer, and then you may add expansion packs. The most recent expansion pack you install will be the CD you have to insert into your computer to play the Sims. If you install the Sims 2, Pets, then University, you would have to insert the University CD to play.

Take it from a sims freak_the whole idea of an expansion pack is to expand the game from what you already have. Meaning you need to first install the original game and then add your expansion packs to it. Do you have sims one or two? If your looking for sims one game or an expansions you should drop me an email I've got almost all the sims one disks and I've moved on to sims 2. I would love to get rid of the sims one disks so if that's what you want give me a shout! Be for warned it so addictive!

yes. you need to have the original sims installed in the computer if you buy the expansion pack.
That also applies to the recent World Of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion pack, BTW

I believe so. My daughter received one of the expansion packs for Christmas and right on the back of the case it says that we need to have Sims 2 installed first.
It makes sense that in order to install the expansion pack, there needs to be something to be something expanded.

You Must have the Regular game "The Sims" Befor you can Install expantion packs or Updates. you can download The Sims
for free if you Have (LIMEWIRE ) it's a download program
