That depends on when you go. On a good day, there's a pretty even mix of guys and girls, ranging in age from late teens through 60's. On weekends it much more crowded than during the week, and there are more girls there than on many weekdays.
There's no way to predict who'll be there when you go, so it's best to just go and enjoy yourself regardless of who's there. I've only been there a few times (I go to Lighthouse Beach, the nude beach on Long Island) but whenever I've been to Gunnison I had a great time.

My wife and I love it there. Everyone is so friendly but not too friendly. Like a big family. The regulars and the lifeguards keep a good watch on everyone. Get there early on a weekend(before 10 am) to get parking. You'll never wear a swimsuit again!! We stayed at a holiday inn or comfort inn in Middleton NJ. Bed and breakfasts are all you will find in the Highlands NJ except for "Fairbanks Resort and Marina" (very close), we drove by and looks alittle run down but also alittle cheaper.
