I quite like Nolan, but ultimately it is between you and your wife. Don't get too set on naming before hand though, because once you look at your son when he is born, you may say, "wow, he doesn't look like a Nolan at all." When I was expecting I identified a few of my favorite names, but had no way of picking one until I looked at my newborn baby boy.....he is a Zachary, almost 2 now, and I love him to pieces.

I think Nolan is a good choice. I'm pretty sure I only know one guy by the name of Nolan. For me, unique names are definitely a plus. I'm not sure if you're into football but this guy turned out to be really strong and a pretty good quarterback. Not sure if that makes any difference to you or not but he seemed to be a pretty nice guy too.

First of all congratulations. Any life brought into this world is a blessing. It is also a great responsibility. You did not say if this is your 1st child or not. The name Nolan is very safe. The question is not what do we think, but are you and the mother happy with the name.
Regardless of what name you choose, love him with all of your heart.
Good Luck!!!!!

Nolan is a traditional name, which is good. If you use the name Nolan then maybe consider his middle name to be "Michael". It rolls off the tongue really well. Hope this helps.

The name needs to flow with both the middle name and the last name.
Then make sure that the initials look good, and don't spell out anything He may regret.
Then check to see what other children may be able to turn it into or rhyme it with.
If You have Nephews or Nieces or know Other Young Children You might ask them what they think. That might help to see how Children accept it.
Just a thought.
Congrats to You Both........

It is a soft, lilting, strong name. I like it.
It is derived from an Irish name, O Nuallain, meaning "champion" or "chariot champion".
Nolan Ryan - he has been a true champion...
I like to think that is a pretty large set of shoes to fill! Our hopes may yet be fulfilled in our children.

My boss named his son Nolan and I think that it is a cute name. Rare enough to be cute, but still not so rare where no one has ever heard of it! (Hello Julia Roberts--Phinneas and Hazel What is her problem? Can you imagine the teasing that those poor kids will go through?)
