Can you borrow $20 from a friend, neighbor or family member? Can you tell your Landlord you're only $20 short, your sorry but you just don't have them at the moment but you will give him $20 in a short amount of time? I know $20 is all the money in the world right now, but it is not so large a sum that you should do anything stupid like pawn something or something illegal. Call someone or face up to the Landlord tomorrow you are $20 bucks short. They can't evict you right away! Besides it will cost your LL more than $20 to evict you. So you should be cool here. Spend the next 12 hours with your kids. Don't brood around them - be happy. Everything is going to be Ok.

Do you have anyone you can borrow money from? 20 bucks, while it might seem a lot to you at this point, can easily be repaid.
I know its already evening but if your rent is due by noon tomorrow then stop by a temp agency in the morning. They're usually open at 5 or 6. Work for a few hours and yo'uve got your 20 bucks.
If all else fails just take the late fee hit and keep doin the temp thing until you land a job to keep.
Good luck.

Can you not call the landlord and explain what happened? it is only $20.00, maybe they will understanding and let you give tha tmoney in a weeks time or something?
Or do you have a relative you can call and ask for a loan?..
maybe there is something you can pawn?
Have you checked with unemplyoment about beiong paid to take courses to get into a good profession? There are many grants etc you could apply for to help you out too.
i know it sucks when you don't have enough money for things like rent and food..i know all too well about it.
good luck.

go and shovel driveways if you have snow or if its grass cut peoples lawns using their equipment, or clean their windows and if you can't come up with the rent by that time period talk to your landlord and explain why you were short and say as soon as I have it you will get the money. I mean your not talking alot of money here. for most people its pocket change. If you need extra money think about starting your own little part-time business in your off hours. If you are determined its not hard. good luck

Well this sounds hideous but there are places that will buy your blood. It's like a blood donation, but they pay you. The Red Cross gets paid for your blood, but they don't pay you, the donor. These other places do. Please don't make a habit of it, I think it's just a stop-gap measure.
Social services can be of assistance to you if you lost your job. Look in the phone book for the blood donations.
Also, some temp agencies have one time jobs or www.craigslist.org often posts one time or short term jobs in their "etc" job section.

Maybe you can ask a family member or a friend if you could borrow $20, so you could pay rent. Then you could tell them you will pay them back as soon as possible.

Wow, those other answers are horrible. I would ask your landlord for a 20 dollar extension to be paid on the next due day, if not sooner. For 20 dollars, it would not make sense to evict you. Court costs for the landlord would exceed it.

Have any bottles around that you can cash in? Check the couch for spare change. Check the paper and see if someone needs any odd jobs done paint a house, shovel the snow ect.
I cant think of anything else that would pay you the same day.

It may not sound like much to you but believe me it is. I will pray for you and more than likely something will work out for you. Trust in God and He will bring you though the tough times. You might even contact a local church and talk to the Pastor. Many churches have funds available for things like this.
