I have a pair of black pants with brown flowers down the out side of the right lag. I have an off white turtle neck shirt and a dark brown sweater I wear with them. If it isn't that cold and I want to weat them I have a brown short sleeve shirt I wear with them. I wear brown or black shoes with the whole outfit. I have received several compliments on it so I would say yes. As long as it looks good to you in the mirror then wear it.

Yes, either of the shoes you mentioned will go with those clothes -- shoes in a contrasting color look great as an accent piece!! About a brown shirt with black pants, though, it depends on what the shirt looks like -- does it have any black accents or a different color? If so, match it with the accent color, otherwise, I personally wouldn't do a brown shirt w/ black pants, but that's just me. Anyways, don't worry about what other people think -- I'm sure u look gr8!! Good luck!!!

try not to make your socks or shoes lighter than your pants or skirts. brown and black can be worn together, just make sure you put a contrasting color along with it that will break up the monotony of the basic heavy colors you choose. brown top balck bottom? yes. black pants brown shoes? NO. try to work a contrast in there somehow. accessorize.

Just the other day for a presentation I wore a brown turtleneck babydoll sweater top with a brown (with pink in it) wool sweatercoat over that, with some black pants. I also wore black flats. It looked just fine :-) depending on the outfit, you can wear black and brown together, but sometimes it just looks plain weird :-/

You most definitely CAN wear black and brown together but it must be done tactfully.

i think if you wore brown shoes with black pants it would look a bit funny, kind of like the shoes were out of place, unless you balanced your shoes with a non-black top.

it just has to be proportionate, in my opinion.

I'd totally say NO. Those colors are great, I know, I like them myself, BUT they do NOT look good together. You can wear, let's say... brown shoes, a pair of jeans, brown belt, any shirt (not brown or black though... white and light blue would go great), and if necessary, brown jacket and/or brown scarf. and that'll look good! ooor... you can just change all the "brown" parts to "black" and it'll look equally good, but they don't look fine together. Those are colors you use to pull together your outfit, they don't count as the colors to match, you just wear certain clothes, and set it all up with brown or black (of course there are other options but those are the basics).

Technically you can because they are both neutrals but the same color pants/skirt with shoes will give a more polished, sophisticated look and a longer leg line.

you should never wear shoes that are lighter than the pants/suit. although women are the exception, they can get away with that.
