Amin was fond of scotland, had served with Scots in the army I think.

At times in the film he wears a kilt and jokes to the press about ruling in Scotland.

But I think there is a double meaning also, being rather derogatory about the lead Scottish character, who behaves foolishly.

BTW, although Whitaker gets top billing, his is really a supporting character, with James McAvoy, in virtually every scene, really the lead.

Was wondering the same thing. Idi Amin sounds correct.
Also, if Forest Whitaker get's the Globe for this movie and we don't know what it's about...who's watching the movie? Anyone you know? Not me.

Because Idi Amin was a big fan of Scotland.

And I may be the one person who saw the movie, but Forest deserves the Globe..he was brilliant in the role.

It is Idi Amin, not Iri Amin.

I think when Amin was exiled he thought he was Scottish royalty, but I am not sure.

The movie's nonetheless on my record to verify. wooded area Whittaker is an somewhat solid actor. This time the region pushed him over the appropriate into Oscar stratus. i think of that's what makes the version once you ought to % between actors with close to to the comparable means. i actually enjoyed Ghost canines.
