Nothing. What's up with you?
(or...if something is going on with you that you'd like to talk about...just start by saying " Oh, not much...but, I did just blah, blah, blah". Or, "Not much...but guess what! Blah, blah, blah...")
It's just an introduction to see how you're doing, or to start talking about anything.

I always wondered that. Saying "nothing" sounds lame. So does "the ceiling" or "gas prices"
