If someone writes 'pick this for best answer' after their answer, are you more or less likely to pick it?

I guess I'm the odd man out here.
I assumed from your question, initially, that if a person says.."Pick this OTHER person's answer because it is correct), I am more likely to give it more creedance.

Many times I will come across a question and I see that someone else has already answered it correctly. I will say..."Pick so ans so's answer. It truley is the accurate one."

I don't do that if it's just a matter of opinion. Only, when it is a medical or statistical fact. In OTHER words, I'm saying, "Give this pther person the points.

I haven't personally gotten that response yet from one of my answers because I've asked so few but I would think it would influence my choice for best answer. The person is not asking to be chosen for best answer., They're just guiding you to the one that got there first, with the correct answer.

I think maybe too many people on here misunderstood the answerer's intentions. It wasn't at all to be taken as a vote for themself. I personally have not come across that before and I've been here for a year.

Yes. I would listen to someone who did not have a selfish motive behind it.

Does anyone pick those people for a best answer? It's annoying because it shows you they don't even care about the questions, they just want points. And what exactly is the value of these points??? It's like Monopoly money. But some people just have to have it all for no reason.

By the way, you should pick my answer as the best. :)

Less! Pesonally, I'm not on here to win points, I just think its fun to read everyones questions and to help with the ones I feel I can help. I always try to give my best answer, but am not competing for a "best answer" award.
