What you are doing is called "road warrior'ing". Usually done while driving around looking for an unencrypted wifi signal. I really don't think there is such a thing as a "stronger wireless card", but you can get a better antennae.

Eventually, the person you are freeloading on will realize you are stealing bandwidth. Then he will secure his wireless router and you won't be able to get on no matter how strong the signal.

Rather than going to all that expense to try and cheat, just get a wireless router and hook yourself up. Oh, and sometimes people will set up open wireless sites to lure you in, all the while they are mucking about inside your computer.

So basically you are asking if you can continue your free ride on wifi signals with a stronger card?
Its not about the card, its about where you live and who is sending out those free signals. If you live in a highly wooded/foilaged area you signals are going to go down.
Wifi is radio signals so whatever effects normal radio waves is going to effect your wireless waves.
