I need help with this question..please?

Question

What are the the advantages and disadvantages of The international system of units? I've been looking everywhere.. I have one advantage so far: used by most nations which is a commercial and trade advantage.

IS is used everywhere except in the US and only two other small nations on the entire globe.... As it is metric, it is easily worked with (ALL units are based on 10).... and all nations, except the above, use metric making communications regarding trade easy. Even the US has to trade in metric tonnes, for example, and recently will have to use metric for anything related to space and the space station.
OK, in summary, and in layman's terms, metric (IS) is SO easy to work with.

The disadvantage is that we Americans are too lazy to learn it and switch. The advantages are no more measuring confusion, easy consistant powers of ten, and set of easy to remember phrases that repeat easily.

everyone can use it and everyone will have the same answers. if you tell someone in france about something you measured in inches, they probably will not know what you are talking about.

another example: if someone talks about the weather in europe, they use celcius. it can get really confusing because in the US we use fahrenheit, and when they talk about the weather being 20 degrees C, they are really talking about 70 degrees F. it just helps having a system that everyone can understand.
