that is a really hard question! I guess I'd have to say BOC, cause they were the ones I heard first. And if it weren't for them I wouldn't love Metallica :D So Blue Oyster Cult.

Both are great but my husband has driven me crazy with Metallica. I wish I had a nickel for every time he made me sit down and watch Some Kind of Monster with him.
Also, lots of bands imitate Metallica, but BOC is unique. "Godzilla" still cracks me up.
