They have carried out more attacks on USA soil than any Middle East group.

American Militias: Rebellion, Racism & Religion by Richard Abanes

The three principles of the militias: to keep America White, Straight and Proud.

Goals:

- Opposition to the Federal Government, seen as the supreme evil.
- Opposition to miscegenation and the dilution of the purity of the Aryan race.
- Promotion of Christian values (Protestant - Baptist).
- Opposition to any laws against the family and seen as pro-diversity.

Methods:

- Practice guerrilla tactics constantly preparing for the "day of reckoning" (when all non-whites, non-Christians and non-straight people will be executed).
- Harrassment of white race traitors, exemplified in this cartoon:

- Distribution of leaflets and manuals on bomb making, modifying rifles for assassination, how to make your own silencer, etc.
- Spreading a general philosophy of "war is necessary" and what is called the philosophy of the 14 Words: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for Aryan children." See:

Many members of militias are people from law enforcement and the military. In fact such people are actively recruited because of their "on the field" experience. See:

The word "terrorist" is reserved for those who are not cooperating with us. It's very, very simple.

If you are a friend of the US, you are never a "terrorist".

If you disagree with the US, rebel against direction or orders, or in any way defy the US or blow of our plan or demans, you are a "terrorist".

Noam Chomsky has proven that the word "terrorist" has been morphed into this usage. If we look at the dictionary definition of "terrorist", we would be forced to apply the term to our own government.

You can see this phenomenon play out constantly all over th world. I'll give you two examples: Saddam Hussein and Hugo Chavez.

At one point, Saddam Hussein was our friend, and he was drinking the Kool Aid. During this time, he gassed the Kurds and assassinated political rivals. But, he was our friend. So, though I don't have the clippings, I am pretty sure you could read press in the 80s about what a great and stabilizing influence was Saddam Hussein in the region. He could have been raping his daughter, desecrating icons of Jesus with his own feces. It doesn't matter.

Then, he misunderstood direction from the State Dept., thinking erroneously that he had ther green light from James Baker to move in on Kuwait. That was the turning point. At that point, he became a "terrorist".

Terrorist means someone who is not drinking the Kool Aid, nothing more or less.

On the other side, we have Hugo Chavez. The opposite phenomenon here. Opposite pattern. Here is a guy who feeds the poor, clothes the sick, educates his people -- even gives away energy to neighbors and to the poor in the US. His conduct in office resembles the teachings of Christ better than any other leader I am aware of. The problem is he defies the US. He says we are bad for Latin America. Forget that he's right. That has nothing to do with it. The problem is that he is the disobedient child, speaking out of turn at the dinner table.

So, we hear how Chavez is a dictator, a suppressor of civil liberties (what nerve we have accusing anyone of that these days). If Chavez stopped criticizing Bush, and started listening to him and following his direction, he would immediately become a Saint and a hero.

For more evidence, please read the works of Noam Chomsky, who has proven this quite decisively.

"Terrorist" is a rhetorical construct in politics, the purpose of which is to influence the public in war preparations. Nothing more.

Someone must have decided that these white supremacist groups are not a threat to the government. Let's not forget that when this country was founded, the government was created for rich white men. No one else was considered a citizen with the right to partipate in the government. Only wealthy, landowning white men could vote and hold office.

Women, native americans, minorities, and all white men save land owning Aristocrats were out.

So, maybe the kind of thinking espoused by these white supremacist groups is not really considered all that hostile to power interests here.

WHAAAA????!!! Are you for truly? You know the way many Natives served within the US navy? Per capita, it's the maximum fee of any ethnic institution on this nation. That is quantity one. Number 2: why the heck could Natives "take into account" becoming a member of a thorough Muslim military or terrorist institution? How could this also be a likelihood? Most natives these days are both Christian or comply with conventional ideals and are lovely slight on this regard besides. Not plenty of fundamentalist dogma inside Indian Country around the board. This is out of left subject.

Good point. I wouldn't say the militias are responsible for most terrorist attacks in this country, but there have been many more home-grown terror attacks on US soil than Muslim.

However, worldwide, it is radical Muslim groups responsible for the majority of what are called terror attacks. This is still not an excuse to wipe out all Muslims, & I sometimes think many on the far right would do that if they could. I would hope the rest of us will do what we can to prevent that.

You're talking about extremists, what the news is incorrectly calling 'insurgents' in Iraq. They are like cults. There are unorganized militias that practice harmlessly today. They don't do anything the public should worry about. In fact, they are the public! They are neighbors, work together, enthusiasts, hobbyists, citizen's groups, and make up all kinds of Americans doing their duties as citizens.
Don't believe everything in the news or especially the movies.

I don't think you can be considered a terrorist group unless you try to commit an act of terrorism.
rolling around on the ground practicing shooting a paper plate, and teaching children firearm safety, isn't acts of terrorism...yet!

if they follow all the laws, and don't commit acts of terror, how are they anything other than another enthusiast club??

no to mention, being prepared to defende family and country, is the responsibility of all citizens.
if it weren't for people like the minutemen, we would be flying a union jack rather than stars and stripes.

they are not because they are primarly white and christian in their orientation.

basically, most skinheads, aryan brotherhood members and groups like them are republican, so our govt won't even list them as a potential threat - even though they very much are.

instead the govt will list groups like peta, the quakers and greenpeace as real threats to the internal security of the usa.

this complete ignoring of the real facts is also why saudi arabia is being ignored as a genuine threat to the usa...

Sounds like you are focused on a small sub-set of society and applying every action and effect to a much broader group of people.

Stop smoking so much in your peace pipe and come up for some air every once in a while.

As a matter of fact they are. you can't form a militia in the U.S. anymore without inviting trouble. Even though our founding fathers put it in the Bill of rights to prevent Government abuse.

They believe in the America that was originally founded. Not the politically correct Ted Kennedy America that we have today. Militia's are what started the Revolution to boot the British.
