Get a moving truck, have the people you bought it from bring it to your house, or buy a new truck. My fiance has a Ford F-150 and it can hold a LOT! It would hold a Queen sized mattress.

Not to yell, but GET IT DELIVERED. Will save you the frustration of getting it home, AND the delivery folks will most likely carry it to your bedroom (which many times is more difficult than you bargained for).

If you really must take it home by yourself, best bet is to rent a pickup truck where you can stand it on it's side for transport.

Of course, if you're feeling lucky... you can carry it on top of your car with a luggage rack by extending your rack with some 2x4s. Tie it down with straps (hope you were an Eagle scout or climber as you want to tie it down without damaging it). Don't load your roof over 150# (most passenger vehicle roofs are not intended to carry much more than that... including SUVs!) and keep your speed low and your distance between cars so not to jettison your cargo.

In my former life, I used to load tons of stuff on other people's car tops... I've loaded beds, garage doors (yes... once a 16' sectional door on a VW Bug), china cabinets (with the glass in tact). All without damage to the vehicle OR the cargo.... It takes a lot of practice and care to not damage vehicle or cargo.

Is it too late to fall for this one anyways?

I remember a Mercury Mountaineer being able to hold such sized mattress, exactly.

So then a Ford Explorer will be able to do the same thing, exactly.

Be aware that my associative memory with whom I moved such a mattress with, may ONLY find reasoning for one to believe that why I now sit here typing, is compounded in reasoning for ridicule.

Simple solution: GET ANOTHER BED. I'd go for a king. You clearly need one if you don't want to lose weight. It doesn't matter what we think.
