Well, that depends on the person really.

The Nintendo Wii console was specifically targeted to be easy and fun for all ages. The Wii is very interactive, and it has great games for parties like Wii Sports and Rayman Raving Rabbids. The Wii also offers games for hardcore gamers with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The $250 price tag also makes it the most affordable 'next gen' console available. The Wii system is only three times more powerful than the Gamecube, so the graphics are limited to mediocre, but if you don't care about that, then this system is for you.

The XBox 360 is second in terms of price, with the 'core' model being $299, and the 'deluxe' model (that i have) being $399. The graphics are fantastic, and XBox Live is easy to use. The XBox has great games for hardcore, or casual gamers, like Gears of War (a personal fav of mine), Halo 3 (to be released in the 2nd quarter of 2007), F.E.A.R., and Dead Rising. The XBox Live Arcade has great casual games like Pacman, and other classics. Overall, the 360 is a great buy.

The SONY PS3...the console that everybody seems to hate. It has a price tag of $499 for it's 'core' model, and $599 for the 'deluxe' model. The PS3 flagship game, Resistance: Fall of Man, is a fantastic game with creepy levels and unique weapons, and in Spring of 07, great games like Assassin's Creed, F.E.A.R., and Army of Two can satisfy any gamer's needs. My personal opinion on the PS3 is if you want it, then the best thing would be to wait for SONY to fix the problems, get better games out for it, and to get their online store kinks straigtened out. Right now, the PS3 just isn't worth it. yet.

Now, as an owner of the PS2 system, i must say that the PS2 can still hold up to the next gen systems. The PS2 has the largest library of video games of any console in the world, the graphics are still fantastic, the 'slim' PS2 (which i have) very easy to travel with, and it is actually the smallest console out there now. This spring, the PS2 is getting God of War 2, among others. I just thought the PS2 deserved to be on this list.

Well, i hope i helped.

The PS3 is still too pricey. Although the XBox 360 has better overall technical specs, that doesn't equate to game play. Nintendo has focused on gameplay with an innovative controller design with the Wii.

I would pick the Wii. The PS3 I might consider after the price drops.

The Wii is supercool. I have NEVER been interested in games, and after spending thanksgiving wiikend successfully hunting for a Wii... I'm convinced. I think it's super cool that when you play a game, you actually mimick the motion you would make were you really doing it. Swordfighting? You swing the controller like a sword. Bowling? You swing underhanded as though you were holding a bowling ball, just don't let go! Nintendo has put out lots of good games, and has even released old games we all loved as kids on the Virtual console, you can download them from the Wii store, right there on your TV! Go for the Wii, and enjoy!

the wii is great, i give it that. but before you listen to everyone smash the ps3, give the system a little time. i remember a time when the ps2 was junk. now its selling better than the wii and 360 combined. give the ps3 some time. a year from now i am sure it will be the system to own

here is the current market leaders 1.Wii
2.360
3. Ps3
i think the best is the wii and it depends on what you like if you like teen and mature games go for 360 for games like Lost Planet and Elder Scrolls Oblivion if you like less gorey games (blood and guts) chose the Wii although be carefull with the remote b\c people are sueing of getting careless and swinging it and breaking a window which is their fault but i think i should warn you, the Ps3 however is not a good choice the line up of games stinks so far but if your looking for FF and GTA thats the way to go

Well, if you have the money to buy a PS3, just buy a 360 and a Wii.

I think the PS3 is just a 600 dollar Blu-ray DVD player.

The 360 and Wii have so much more to bring.

if you buy xbox 360 or ps3, you should also get a full definition HDTV that's large enough to validate the screen resolution power of these devices. if you cant afford the tv yet, but you just want to play the games on these consoles, then get whichever system you like for the games, not for the console.

for me, i wont buy any of the above, cos i prefer PC games (online access too) and i use a DS for mobility games.
