As long as there are different people and ignorance left to go around for everyone there will always be racism. It is sad but it is very true that we all still make ignorant generalizations about different groups of people that do not look like we do. Whether it is an American vs. Mexican, Black vs. White, Black vs. Green who knows we are all still very racists. I try like crazy not to think of other people as "other " people but you know what it is not all that easy. I think understanding that we all are different no matter if we are the same color and just respect everyone as an individual it can change a little bit faster than it has. I can not say that the effects of racism has not changed because there are laws that protect people from physical hate but the hate itself is still there just suppressed.

If you travel the world you will see that racism has never changed! Germany is still extremely racist. Why else would they need your parents/grandparents birth/marriage/death records etc if you decide to get married in Germany? So they can find out information....Still hanging on to the false hope of having a "Superior Aryan Race" I guess! Just proves how dumb the Germans really are. They learned nothing from their stupidity from starting and losing WWII.
I expect most countries have their fair share of racism past, present and future. America is at the forefront again with different racisms but, the one that bothers me is the fence between America and Mexico. What is America planning to do? Electrify it so if anything touches it they die.......oh zee americans getting ideas from other countries.....or maybe it was Arnold.......strange he is Austrian like Hitler and now Govenor of California.....Whats next? A fence to block the Canadians......It just never ends.......

It is still a major issue but the political correct thing to do is say its better than it was. Those people should study how bad it was and realize that we still have a ways to go. I think that younger people have less of grasp on it because they never had to deal with its effects. Ask someone in their 60's or 70's if its something that should just be forgotten. "If you don't remember your past you're doomed to repeat it".

Racism is huge, today, everywhere. We are all racists. At heart, we all think our race is superior - right? Would you change your race, not for a million bucks? I know God loves everyone & that we are all equal, I believe that but I am still resentful toward certain people who are of certain ethnic groups - that's the way it is! It's true & you know it!

the reason is if you learn about the culture, you think of them as your brothers and what need is it to hate them if you understand them and realize they are good people.
