i have a 330w JVC stereo. (speakers and reciever) But obviously when i blast my stereo up all the way i am putting my speakers in danger.

I currently can buy 2 speakers for the HX-77 model very cheaply. Litterly just a couple bucks. These speakers can support 520w of power. Would this work and would the sound be any clearer?

stereo speakers are usually designed to match the receiver amp.

one thing for sure, your new speakers can support your old receiver. and at maximum volume, there will still be distortion, less from the new speakers, but for sure from the amplifier. so yeah, the sound is better but not that fantastic.

you should always aim to get a system that will play at the dB level you want, while maintaining low distortion levels. this would mean if you like 330w sound, get a system that generates 520w and run it at 330w. then you will get a clear sound at a sound level you enjoy.

One speaker should be designated as the right; the other the left. Polarity is important, as you don't want one speaker pushing and the other one pulling. Red is positive and Black is negative. The Right and Left Speaker terminals (of the Fisher) should be marked accordingly. The use of 14 gauge stranded is recommended for your speaker wire.

if this is for a car get yourself an amp with at least 150 per channel at 4 ohms then you'll have a enough power to drive 2 speakers or get a good subwoofer to get some nice lows
