Newsweek is running an excerp from his book.
Simpson's book may be tacky but "if i did it" deals with one chapter that is hypothetical and labeled fiction - a great part of the book likely is Simpson defending himself against false allegations. Possibly the "If i did it" title and chapter was decided by the publisher for the sensational value which they thought would translate into higher book sales. The publisher brought the deal to Simpson and offered the money - there's no confession and the chapter contains no act of violence that night. The rare opportunity to earn any money likely was taken to help provide for his family members - Simpson is paying to put his kids through college etc. OJ has always stated his innocence.

short answer no. Double jeopardy protects him. Criminally he's in the clear plus he could fall back on the "it was just fiction" thing and that would fail the threshhold of evidence. Civilly his agreement to receive $880,000 from the publisher might be actionable by the Goldman's because of the civil judgement.
This sets up a problem for the Goldman's where :
1-they would profit from their son's murder
2.they would deprive Nicole's kid's of the proceed's for their future benefit.
This guy is disgusting. He now will remove all doubt that he did this and put that in his kids heads. Yuck!

He should be. Just for being stupid. "If" he didn't commit the murders he should still have some sort of heat placed on him for writting an account of the murders in his so-called "fictional" novel. If he's trying to get attention he's going the wrong way about it. It's crazy what some people will do and say when they're broke.

I think he should be re-tried for the murders, I don't know who came up with the double jeopardy rule but he/she should be ashamed of themselves.
