LET THE POWER OF MY ENCHANTED RING ENLIGHTEN YOU...Even though the US Presidency is argubly the most important political position in th world, the President does not have a wealth of experience that allows him (and maybe one day her) govern an entire country. He has a Cabinet as well as other high ranking supporters aiding him in his decision process. I am always amazed that when people talk about Barack Obama, his "lack of experience" is seen as a negative. To be President, one only needs to be intelligent, thoughtful, decisive and committed. If I am a manager for Apple looking for someone to program the new I-Pod/Cell phone, I would want to hire someone with experience. But politics is open enough to have a President who is a peanut farmer, an actor, a lawyer, or a businessman .

Absolutely. He has experience as a State Senator and as a Community Organizer. He has far more experience of any kind than Bush had. Bush was the governor of Texas, which has, by statute, a very weak Executive. the most powerful politician in Texas is the Lt. Governor because he or she has some control over the Legislature.

Luckily for him, the American public is so disenfranchised with those in Washington that have a TON of experience, they will probably start pulling for someone "fresh." But no, he really does not have enough experience. Considering everyone else though, he's the only one so far who makes sense.

He's got about as much experience as Lincoln did when he started out as president of the country

Yes, and as a response to a person above, Barack Obama will have an edge because he's black. (you know, because no one wants to be the big racist, which I find ridiculous)

I would vote for him over most brain dead republicans but I think he has been over hyped and probably not really ready for the presidency.

This world is cruel,we must face it Obama is black, therefore, his experience is irrelevant. he will never get the votes, unless we are in Africa, where he would have a chance.
