Actually, the best possibility is that it was an airplane. Unfortunately, with cloudy and snowy conditions, light can refract, creating some weird impressions of airplanes. At night, this means that an airplane facing you will be magnified, but when it turns the light can appear to disappear. Durring the day it means that light can reflect off of the airplane creating a sudden intense light which is gone the moment the airplane moves out of the shaft of light....
as far as anyone else seeing this phenomena, that would be hard to answer without a location. Although, honestly, I have seen the same type of light on several occasions, all in cloudy or damp conditions.
And please, don't think I'm a skeptic. I just believe that giving varacity to common phenomena tends to detract from the more spectacularly unexplainable instances of UFO sightings. Skeptics have a field day saying "Oh, the majority of sightings are just airplanes, so there's no such thing as a UFO."

It could of been a astroid or a comet as on the news last night there's a comet that only can be seen every hundred or so years. It's a very bright light & you can't just look at it at normal hours of the day. You could of seen a reflection of something & happened to be in the right place at the right time. There could be many things that you could of seen. What about a falling star or maybe a satelite as there's so many up in sky. You look at the stars some nights & you can sometimes tell what's not a star & what is a satelite. I do hope I helped answer your question in some way or another.

I too saw a strange light in the sky this afternoon. It looked like the illuminated white smoke. I first thought it was smoke trailing a plane. But there was no plane. It was weird. I stood and watched it sail across the sky like a rocket for at least 4min

I did - yet in Sydney. i became observing the sky as I often do, and observed some lights (no longer lengthy after sundown), approximately 8-10 in formation - no longer a protracted way over the horizon. Then the formation replaced, and grew to alter into wider, and abruptly shot up. This became over a 2-3 minute era i assume. I even have been a pilot, and likewise watch the sky as i admire astronomy. 2 issues entered my head - alien deliver and "there could desire to be a logical answer". The lights have been mountain climbing rapid, changing configuration on an identical time as. conserving a uncomplicated shape. This became no plane, balloon, kite, cloud formation, and so on. I picked up the binoculars which consistently take a seat reachable on the balcony. What it became became a flight of birds, intense adequate that sunlight became nonetheless catching on their wingtips/feathers (at THEIR horizon, th sunlight had no longer yet set). No thought what form of poultry, we've hundreds. It became mild adequate to work out them of course, and that they have got been purely flying around, doing in spite of it became birds do. They weren't very a protracted way away - yet too a protracted thank you to know. Had a alien deliver nut been there, minus binoculars, he could have sworn it became a alien deliver (which it quickly became). i wouldn't in any respect have confident him/her in any different case. Plus i wouldn't in any respect have guessed the real answer, as its a tad unusual. concern solved, sorry to you UFOlogists.
