Since when do law and morals/ethics embrace one another in our system? Sort of an oxymoron you know? There is no such thing as morality, there is only legality and technicality

The enforcement of most speed laws is just to generate revenue for the government and has nothing much to do with safety. Most accidents are not at high speeds.

Yes, it is possible. How could it be otherwise?
Speed limits are set for road conditions and the least capable car and driver, so as to be safe for everyone.
The police simply enforce these laws and really let a lot of people get away with minor violations.

maybe, but some might argue that to even feel that laws such as this apply to you requires buying in to some sort of moral contract that we make to try to guarantee the safety of other people.

Yes. One could argue the safety aspect of reduced speed and (just an example) stick with cost effectiveness. (mileage)
