Some people woud smear feces on their car hoods and put a bumper sticker that says "Smell Me" if they saw that one of the neighbors had done it before they did. It's the Sheeple principle.

I've wondered the same thing. Not so much for stalkers (who I presume already know you, if not directly) but for child molesters. It's like offering a menu: 2 little boys, 1 older girl. I don't know that a molester would follow a car, but if they see the "menu" in a driveway of a house, it's an invitation to tragedy.
On the other hand, the vast majority of child molestation is committed by people the child and/or family already knows, so maybe these little stick figures don't pose much of a threat.
Still, I'd never do it. If only for privacy's sake.

Some folks are just a little too proud of their offspring. Maybe it's better (in their feeble minds) than actually showing up to a PTA meeting.

Tourers have been doing it ever since the first cross country excursion took place. It's like talking on th CB radio, or collecting those silly bumper/window stickers that tell You "We've been to some place that no body else has ever heard of, and We survived the ordeal"!
