My husband was in for 7 yrs.He told me that the only things that prevented him from crackin up was the meditation and his memories of me,but mostly meditation. He said also that most of people he associated with had serious undiagnosed mental health issues,or were already on med for mental health issues. He also mentioned that a majority of people that obviously had mental problems had extremely high IQ's,like genius IQ's.That caused me to wonder why the prison system doesn't look into the fact that alot of inmates,my husband included, had above normal IQ's and why these extremely smart people ended up in the prison system.

They probably have something that keeps them going. Like maybe someone in their family or someone they care about. Possibly they are hoping they will one day be released and be able to see Apocalypto.
