you can talk to your doctor and get sleeping pills but only if you really need them!! they can be dangerous but if you need them you can get a full 6-8 hours of sleep everynight. just make sure you take it early enough to wake up on time the next morning

Great question. - I have tried all of the new and the old sleep aids over the counter and prescription. But I now after many years find that if I take 2.5 mg of Valium at 9 and one bendryl pill. I will fall asleep at 10 and wake up at 6:30 rested.
I have sleep apnea and nothing has worked as well as these two drug. By the way - they cost me .70 a day. Good night time for my ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

get a book on you most hated subject have it next to your night stand so you'll be able to read it. Make sure is next to you, that way you don't get up and loose any of the laziness that we all wake up with, read read and read. Get a book with no pictures about something too technical for you. Even though I like computer I understand jack about A+ so I got this thick *** book behind my bed for those restless nights!

I keep a big rubber mallet next to the bed for such nights...
Seriously, have you tried a small protein snack 20 minutes before bed? A couple slices of turkey lunchmeat can work wonders. It's helpful to many people!

Relax, deep breathing. Concentrate on each muscle and relax it. I also have relaxing music playlists on my MP3 player. If you are worried about things coming up the next day, write them down. Say out loud "I am going to sleep now, my conscious will relax and my subconscious will work out the problems while I sleep. Good night."

first of all kick caffein out of your diet, especialy after noon. Exersizing does wonders to get rid of extra energy and a good book will help you to relax and shut down at the end of the day.

Change your environment. Move to another bed or a sofa. Don't turn on the TV, radio or lights, just move to another location.
