Either death penalty or locked up for life. They don't like baby rapists in jail - he won't last long, and would get exactly what he deserves.

Pass Jessica's Law!!

Holy crap. I was going to give pc a thumbs down, then realized....you might be right.

No, I don't think he should get the death penalty even if he killed the kid, because to me, an eye-for-an-eye approach to crime just shows that those enforcing the law are no better than those violating it.

I do however believe in exceptions to the above rule, for mass murderers like Saddam whose death penalty cannot be considered an eye for an eye because of all the 1000s of innocent people he killed.

I believe in giving the next-to-worst criminals like this abductor life in jail sentences so that they have their whole life to think about what they did and how wrong it was, to make up for the time before they committed the crime when they should have thought about it so as to avoid committing the crime.

its basic kidnapping he didn't kill the kid maybe 20-30 yrs in jail longer if he did anything with the kids and let the other inmates know its just like giving the death penalty but without the tax payers flipping the bill for the injections kidnappers don't get life or the death penalty sorry its a minor crime until someone is killed or sexually abused

No so far , what we know about the whole issue is limited .However, in tv scenes the kid is wearing a ring on his lip.which apparently must have been put there with the consent of him and the supervision of the so called kidnapper, now this is in question ,was he living with that man on his on will ?I think we need to dig more, the media has said that neighboor saw the kid bike riding around freely so would nt we question the veracity of kidnapping or running away ?

No; I don't think the death penalty actually accomplishes anything, other than preventing prisons from overcrowding. I personally don't like it because it's unethical for an authority figure to have the power to kill someone as punishment, no matter what they did. And in terms of punishment, a long life in prison is a much more unpleasant thing than dying early, if you had to choose between the two.

Life without parole.
With Big Bubba for a roommate, and no soap on a rope.

Serious crime if you ask me. Life in prison. The punishment has to fit the crime. Murderers and molesters get death for sure!

No, because that might cause other abductors to think that they might as well just kill their abducts, since they might die anyway.

No.

First, even though he probably DID abduct the kid, that hasn't been proven yet in a court of law - which is the foundation of our great nation.

We cannot try him in the media, nor on Yahoo. We have a court system to do that.

If you don't like that system, well, then you don't like America.

I'd like to see it personally, but probably not. After all the ACLU protects pedophiles (NAMBLA) and would likely scream at the idea of killing one of their cherished supporters.
