5x + 33 = x is that the equation? if so..

5x +33 = x
5x - x = -33
4x = -33
x = -33/4 or -8 1/4

4x + 33 = 0

-x+5x+33=0
4x+33=0
4x=-33
x=-33/4

-5x -5x
You have to subtract the 5x from both sides of the equation; combinding common variables.
33= -4x
DIVIDE by 4 of each side of the equation by negative 4 and x will be -33/4.

ok so first you add 5x to x because their like terms so thats 6x+33 then you have to divide both sides by 6 like this: 6x/6=33/6 and 6 into 6x is x so x=5.5 (i got 5.5 by dividing 33 into 6) Anf if you solving FOR x then the answer is -33/4

its not possible if u mean 5 times x+33=x because ur adding 33 to it and multiplying it by 5 which would increase the vaule
