Under normal terms, a Condo would be a purchased home in an apartment style complex.

A Townhouse would usually refer to a home in a row house, usually found in the northern states. No upstairs neighbors, and the walls are brick, rather than thin and hearing through.

A condo is usually purchased by you, and are usually in an apartment tyupe complex, Bu ti have a friend who brought a condo on the &th floor of her building. Although I have seen townhouses for sale in new neighborhood developements. Town houses are usually 2 story and connected by another house. They usually are rented but are also sold seperately just as condos are.

You can also see townhouse notices in huge several story complexes so I think the name is in the real estate sales man mind. It isn't uncommonm to hear or read of a large apartment building 8 stories high being turned into 2 story townhouses. on for example 4 floors where there were 8 floors of apartments.

A town house usually refers to a row a house...where three or more homes are physically joined together.
A condominium is a form of home ownership...could be apartment, townhouse whatever. You own the interior of your home basically...........the exterior and common elements ( playgrounds, laundry rooms etc) if applicable....are owned by the condos group. You would pay a monthly MAINTENACE fee to your condo board for upkeep to all the common elements.
If you're considering condominium lifestyle, make sure you fully understand your rights and responsibilities.
Hope this helps

Here it is in a nutshell. A condo shares a main entrance with others. ie apartment bulding lobby. A townhouse has it own individual entrance and does not share it with others. ie frontdoor
no lobby or main entrance
