i can't remember exactly why it's helpful to collect more data when doing a research project. so, can anyone tell me the answer? pretty please?

In terms of data gathered for a study (an experiment) more data gives you a higher likelihood of getting accurate results and being able to generalize these results to the larger population.

It's better because you can have different perspectives, and you get more of a variety of media- newspaper, article, magazine, letters etc., if you get contradicting information, it gives you more of an idea of what is right, because 3 or 4 sources may have the exact same thing, but then there may be 1 source that says something else, you wouldn't have that if you only had 2 sources and you had contradicting information, you would probably just skip over it.

The more data the more comprehensive and accurate the conclusions and/or the findings. Are you sure this isn't a homework question?

You get more information. And add up what you may not have gotten from other sources.
