I think it's that most people tend to see fidelity as a sign of real love. I've been non-monogamous, so I sort of sympathize.

Real love and Fidelity are both difficult when times are tough and believe me there will be tough times. Not being there for someone during those times will strain the relationship and cause future problems. Not being exclusive will lead to jealousy and a temptation to not work with the person having the life problem.

i think that most people are saying, based on your results, that if you are not emotionally faithful (no real love) then you are cheating just as much as infidelty.

real love is much more important, but if you find your "real love" with someone by cheating on your partner, you should end the relationship. cheating is as emotionally damaging as not having love in a relationship.

Because it is near impossible to have "real love" for more than one person. You may love one person for one thing and another person for another, but real love is for someone that you love everything about. Once you find real love, you won't have this question on your mind.
