I moved to a new town last spring. I am 15, freshman in high school. Well so far I havent made any friends. I have tried talking to people but I get ignored. No idea why. I am nice and kind to everyone I meet and I've never done anything bad to anyone. It's tough being in high school without any friends....having to sit alone ALL the time annd that kinda s hit, you get the picture. My friends live a ways away from here about a half hour away so its very rare that I get to see them, very rare. In this new town it seems like you have to have already lived here for a while to fit in, and have friends. I've tried hanging out downtown and have gone to one of the dances. Yea.....that didn't work. I'm not fat, I'm not ugly, I'm a normal guy that plays guitar, wears jeans and a t shirt. Please don't say join band, I've tried that to....no opening spots. Just completely out of ideas.

There are probably lots of people in the school you havent talked to yet that you could be friends with. Get involved with clubs and talk to more people. People like it when you can relate to them so when your talking to someone and they say something figure out how you can relate to that and talk to them about it. Whatever you do dont conform because then you'll still be friendless and now also unhappy. It might just take time for the towns folk to get used to a new person but Im sure that in the end they'll accept you.

Man, I feel your pain. I'm 51 - and have the same problem. My husband says make friends at church...somehow that don't work either, for me, anyway. You might try it, a youth group at church might be more accepting. Or something like 4H, if they have it, or Scouting. I know several guys your age in scouting. Do you have a coffee shop? Like Books-a-Million or something? They have regular role-playing game groups at the one in Texarkana, maybe others do too. They're pretty friendly guys. Or the Magic nuts, they're usually pretty friendly. How about a club? or the Y, if there is one. Don't know what y'all have, so I don't know much else to suggest. Our Star Trek group was open to anyone, and a lot of new people joined it and fit in ok. Try sfi.org for a Starfleet ship near you, if you're interested in that.

You sound like a pretty cool guy. I don't know what to tell ya. Not to be funny, but make sure you cover all the basics before going out and trying to make new friends,like bathing regularly(people aren't to keen on having smelly friends), wearing deodorant, not having rancid breath(brushing your teeth and chewing gum will do) and all other hygiene essentials. If you've got all that covered I recommend making friends with the people who aren't really cliquely and seems to have all different types of friends. Those are the people who will mostly be easy to make friends with. Besides that, I don't know what else to tell ya. Good luck making new friends.

nice question. uh... just be the one who opens the conversation like who da think is gonna win the super bowl. go from there. and by a week or two people will know who u r. r u really good at guitar? if u r impress the chicks, but not right away and don't look cocky or u'll look an @ss. just be cool. don't an @ss or pus*y. be in between.

sit at a lunch table and start playing your guitar, some people might come over and be like sweet dude whats up, my name is..., or maybe u should be involved in a sport or something, that would be less embarrassing
