Which side is it best to be on (Allied, Axis) based on weaponry, accuracy, etc... and which weapon kit is best? Answers recommended from people that have played Call of Duty 3 before.

There are subtle differences in the weapon kits which overall make for a fairly even weapon set. I'm sure this isn't a complete set but here is what I have picked up:

Rifles:
The M1 cannot reload during mid clip whereas the Kar98 can. They both reload fast. I would say the M1 is more versitile and the Kar98 has a slight advantage for long range.

Sub Machine Guns:
The MP40 has a 32 round magazine versus the 20 round clip of the Thompson making it much better. The 12 extra bullets are easily worth any slight trade off in kick.

Sniper Rifles:
These I have found to be about the same for each side.

Assault Rifles:
The BAR has much less kick than the MP44 which makes it very potent. You can use it at long and short ranges easier than the MP44 which is better for short or medium range. The BAR, in my opinion, is the most versitile weapon in multiplayer.

Support:
The MG34 has the advantage here as its site is not enclosed, allowing you to see more of where you are aiming than the .30 of the Allies. It may seem like a small difference but it does give the Germans the advantage.

Anti-Tank:
These are even.

Shotguns:
These are even.

Pistols:
These are even.

This is in no way authoritative, it is just my findings while playing.

Overall I would say the Allies have a slight advantage given the potency of the BAR. But it is pretty even nevertheless.

Choosing a kit is a matter of map and of game mode. You can pick the BAR for about any map and be effective. For the Axis the Light infantry kit is pretty versatile, and on larger maps the speed of the kit really helps. Also, for bigger maps like Eder Dam, a scout is useful, especially for deathmatch. They have low death rate and can kill without being exposed. Scouts are also very good for games with high occupency, as the artillary strike can be devastating to a group.

On smaller maps like Verdun I almost always go with a medic as long as it is a team game. Support kits can be used on most any map, but are better for flag games where you know the enemy is going to be going in a certain direction. The only maps where I will consistently pick a Anti-Tank kit are Poisson or Merville. No other maps have enough vehicles to make them worthwhile. Riflemen are versatile in they can be efective in any map, but will never be the best choice for any given map.

I mostly play War and Capture the Flag. The four main kits I pick from are Heavy Infantry, Scout, Support, and Light Infantry in that order.

I hope this was of some help. I've searched around online for an authoritative guide but have yet to find one.

Hi there,
To get Axis and Allies for free you can click here on the link: http://j.mp/1BDxxly

With this link you can get the full version completely free.
You can pick to be either the Allied powers of Britain, Russia, and America, or instead opt to play as the Axis powers of Germany and Japan. Either way, this is a worldwide conflict where you'll have to learn to play strategically across two fronts, no matter who you’re playing as.
It's the best game of its category.

Wow, good question.

I think alot of this answer depends on what weapon(s) your good with and who you prefer to be.

I like to be a medic, and I can get alot of kills with a allied shotgun. But I also LOVE the M1 Grand with the Allies. I can pulse the trigger and get a definite kill every time.

Generally speaking, and not every will agree, but I think generally the Axis have more powerful weapons, but Allies have better aiming and firing rates.

When I'm a medic I'll hold onto my shotgun and dump my pistol for a M1 or some other weapon that has more stopping power.
