after you complete high schoo universities will look at your grades as weell as ur extra curricular activities. how would universities look at your extra currucular activities, they dont have proof=, someone ca just jot down lies.. dont you agree?

you are absolutely correct that schools have no way to validate that you participate in extra-curriculars.
however, the total number of extra-curriculars that you list probably wont matter much. schools look for excellence, and that will be reflected in your letters of recommendation from teachers who lead the extra-curriculars where you have demonstrated leadership, skill, passion, or whatever.
most schools will probably not be impressed by a student with a laundry list of extra-curriculars because it seems to imply that a student was not committed to anything.

Are you looking for reassurance to make up activites for your applications? I would advise not, if that's the case. I think the teacher/counselor recommendations help confirm what you claim to do. At least for my counselor, you had to write down what activities you've been involved in. I guess you could have just made those up to, but I would imagine that your guidance counselor or at least your teachers would have some insight as to what kind of things you do/what sort of person you are. I'm sure some people do lie on their applications (I actually know people who have), but I would highly discourage it.

I'm sure the ivy league schools have "background checks" of some sort.
However, I know a few people who made up activities that were then printed in the "Who's Who of Amercian High Schools".
