each employer reports your wages to your social security number, but not hire or end dates, or why you left. you will need to contact the employers if you didn't keep track of your work experience.

Yes. There is a report from Equifax. It's about $100 per report so few employers get them.

You don't have access to it. It has heresay on it. It can have very derogatory things about your character if a past manager chooses to say so.

That said....it shouldn't be legal. They are available for jobs that pay over $25k yearly (as I recall) or require some form of trust -ie banks.

Certainly...

If you are wondering YOUR past work history, sit down on a chair (or your favorite couch) and close your eyes.

...the next step (and this is hard for a lot of people)...THINK

Think about where you worked and why you stopped working there. Think about the burgers you flipped, the oil you changed or quite possibly toilets you scrubbed.

now if you can't recall those details, please be honest to your next employer as he shouldn't have to hire you...god knows I wouldn't!!!!

maybe not why they let you go but you can contact your local workforce ofc (employment ofc). they will have all the records of all the employment you have ever had.
